Do you have an idea for an electronic product but no prototype yet?

Rivinnov transforms an electronic product idea into a functional prototype that you can hold, test, and demonstrate. We handle the entire system: circuit board design, firmware development, 3D printing of the enclosure, assembly, and validation.
➔ You have a validated idea on the market but no in-house electronics or firmware expertise.
➔ You must demonstrate real-world functionality to an investor, a competition jury, or a pilot client.
➔ A homemade prototype based on development boards already exists, and we need to move to something clean and credible.
➔ You must resolve a technical doubt — autonomy, radio range, sensor accuracy — before committing to full development.
This prototype is used to validate a technical concept, raise funds, test with a pilot client or prepare for certification.
Our technical expertise
We help you transform your idea into a concrete, testable, and scalable prototype.
We work across the entire system:
Embedded electronics
Schematic design, multilayer PCB routing, sensor integration, power consumption optimization.

Embedded software
Firmware development tailored to your product
C · C++ · FreeRTOS · Embedded Linux (Yocto) · TensorFlow Lite
STM32 · ESP32 · nRF52 · PIC · ATMEL

3D design & printing
Design, integration and 3D printing of custom technical parts and enclosures.
Integration and manufacturing of parts
(3D printing)

From idea to functional prototype
Our approach is structured to secure each stage of development:
1.
Technical analysis of the need
Understanding your product, its constraints and its objectives. Choosing a system architecture.

2.
Electronic development, firmware and mechanics
Design of electronic boards, development of embedded software and mechanical design in parallel.

3.
Manufacturing and assembly
Manufacturing, integration and assembly of complete prototypes.

4.
Testing and Validation
Testing, validation, reporting and handover of deliverables and knowledge.

A prototype designed to become a product

A prototype should not be solely a proof of concept.
At Rivinnov , we develop prototypes with a product vision, to facilitate the rest of the project:
➔ Anticipating industrial constraints
➔ Sustainable technology choices
➔ Cost and production optimization
We are working in collaboration with industrial partners such as OMICRON to prepare for industrialization.
Technologies used
Our approach is structured to secure each stage of development:

➔ Microcontrollers (16/32 bits) STM, ESP, Nordic, Pic, Atmel
➔ C, C++, FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux (Yocto), TensorFlow Lite
➔ Analog and digital sensors
➔ Communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, BLE, LoRaWAN, Zigbee, CAN, Modbus, etc.)
➔ Multilayer PCB design
➔ Connected embedded systems (IoT)
➔ Additive Manufacturing FDM and SLA (PETG, PLA, ABS, Resin)

FAQ
Between €20,000 and €60,000, depending on complexity, for a complete embedded system including the board, firmware, and enclosure. A simple prototype validating a single technical function can cost as little as €10,000. The budget depends primarily on the number of functions to be validated, the technological choices, and whether or not wireless connectivity is included.
6 weeks for a simple system, 3 to 4 months for a connected product with a casing and advanced power management. The manufacturing of the circuit boards represents an unavoidable 2 to 3 weeks.
Yes, several funding programs apply to prototyping projects: the French Tech Grant (Bourse French Tech), Bpifrance innovation funding, the Créalia Loan (Prêt Créalia), Occitanie regional grants, and the Research Tax Credit (CIR) and Innovation Tax Credit (CII). We provide the technical documentation required to prepare and submit the applications.
Typically, 3 to 5 units. This allows you to keep one, test one, and demonstrate one without being held up if one gets damaged.
That’s precisely its purpose. A correction iteration—revising the PCB design and manufacturing a new version—typically costs €5,000 to €10,000 and takes 3 to 4 weeks. We account for this in the project schedule rather than assuming the first version will be perfect. All of our prototyping services include one correction iteration.
